Last Minute Last Day Purchases!

I’m planning on doing a stricter low buy during 2018, but I made some last minute purchases during the last two weeks and it was extremely “TREAT YO SELF!!!” It's the end of the year and so I guess I decided to end it with a bang... and a hole in my wallet. I'm also going to have some more haul posts coming up for the next couple of weeks since some things I've purchased still haven't come in yet. I'm already prepping full reviews of some of the products listed, but let me know if there's something you definitely want me to give my thoughts on!

Recent Highlighter / Strobing Picks! ft. Becca, Hourglass, and Burberry

I have so many highlighters that I don't think I'll ever be able to use any of them up, but there have been 3 products in particular that have not left my desk. Recently, I've been moving away from really metallic and basically stripe of shine highlighters and going towards more subtle or I guess buildable highlighters. I don't know if it's because the dry winter air is making my skin show more texture, but I've been loving the look of a smooth lit from within glow. Hopefully these end up on your tree as well because they're really lovely and gift-worthy products!

The Handbag Residents #3 ft Fenty Beauty, Chanel, NARS Cosmetics, and more!

Unlike the other posts I've done in this series, I also wanted to include the other non-makeup but still beauty products that I carry in my bag. I also got a new bag (Kate Spade Hayden Leather Crossbody Bag) and it fits my adorable pouch I purchased from MochiThings here. It helps me organize firm favorites that I don't plan on removing from my bag.

I am going to lowkey gush about the Kate Spade bag right now. I was looking into new bags and happened to look through Hautelook when they were having a Kate Spade sale. I like small or medium small bags because of my short frame and this works perfectly with my proportions. It also fits quite a lot of stuff without making it super heavy.

But anyway. Onto the contents!

My Holiday Picks!

Compared to how much I wanted to spend on holiday season gifts, I would say that I did a good job at holding back on trying to collect everything. Holiday specials can sometimes be a hit or miss for me. I've heard and purchased some holiday kits that were subpar and usually not as good as the full sized permanent range. So far, I'm pretty happy with what I chose! Keep reading to see what I got along with some mini reviews.

Review & Swatches: Melt Cosmetics She's in Parties Eyeshadow Stack

I'm such a massive fan of the Melt Cosmetics eyeshadows that I couldn't resist getting the She's in Parties Eyeshadow Stack. I've also been trying to get into purples and this fit perfectly into what I wanted. The stack comes with two mattes and two "dimensional foil" shades that compliment each other so well. This stack contains 13.85 grams / 0.48 ounces of product and retails for $48 on the Melt Cosmetics website here.

My Kind of Nude Lipsticks

I've never really been a nude lipstick person until maybe 2 years ago? Even now when looking at my nude or MLBB choices, they're darker than the typical skin tone lipstick. Light nudes or the ones that match my skin tone make me look really washed out and so I gravitate towards darker non-beige based nude lipsticks.

I personally categorize all of these shades as part of my nude lipstick collection but they also fall under the brown, mauve, or orange categories as well.

What's In My Travel Makeup Bag!

For Thanksgiving, I'll be out of town for about a week and so I'm trying to make sure that I bring enough makeup for most occasions but I'm also trying not to bring my whole collection. I'm planning this post ahead of time and so there's probably a 80% chance that I'll bring more things than what I've listed.

My absolute must have favorites for every occasion are unsurprising - Glossier Stretch Concealer in Medium and Boy Brow in Brown, Pony Sharping Brown Definer, and Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel Waterproof Mascara in Very Black. If you follow my Instagram page, I post a lot of eye looks and these four products are in almost all of them. Since I do mention these products a lot, I'm not going to expand on them in this post since it's already a super long one.

I also use the Glossier products so much that I was invited to be a Glossier Rep (smooooooth transition, Hao). If you would like to support me by using my affiliate rep link, please click here! You can get 20% off your first purchase as well as free shipping with orders including 2 or more products.

[GIVEAWAY] Red Lip Picks ft. Bobbi Brown, Pony Effect, and Bite Beauty

As repeatedly stated, I'm a huge red lipstick lover. I also feel like I annually put out a red lipstick post as well but this time, I'm focusing on three formulas I've really enjoyed throughout this year with a bonus giveaway! I photographed using my own products, but the products in the giveaway are brand new.

Shining Brightly With The Maybelline Matte Metallics

I recently received the Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Metallics Lipsticks in Smoked Silver and Molten Bronze* for free from Influenster and I tried so hard to be creative and fun with them, but I ended up with basic full face swatches. I'm going to be doing a mini review at the end of this post, but I'm not really a fan of this formula. They do retail for about $7 and so they're affordable and easy to play with, but I don't plan on using them a lot outside of fun makeup looks at home.

Feeling Minnie and Cute with The Saem

So, I went a bit crazy when the Disney x The Saem collection came out with all of their Mickey and Minnie Mouse products. Some items were new, but a lot of them were repackaged with the special packaging. Considering that I have a very weak spot for Mickey and Minnie Mouse and don't have a lot of The Saem products, I very happily loaded up my shopping cart on Jolse. This post is just going to include my haul and first impressions but let me know if you want a full review of any of these products!

Review & Swatches: Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Starstruck and Trippin

Fenty Beauty is probably the brand I've been the most excited about in years. Rihanna's IDGAF attitude is something I aspire to have one day and I absolutely love her makeup and fashion choices. They might not always be for me, but she always looks so beautiful. Once she announced her makeup line, I knew I definitely wanted to pick up some things no matter what they were.

I originally picked up the Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Starstruck and trio in Medium (Bamboo, Mocha, and Trippin) but ended up returning the trio and getting Trippin just by itself. Each Match Stix contains 0.25 ounches / 7.10 grams of product and retails for $25 on the Sephora website here.

Worn In Perfection ft. The Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Colors

One of my newest and favorite discoveries is the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Colors. While I like a full opaque lip color, I'm also really into the worn / lived in lipstick look as well. When this new formula was released, I was so excited and immediately went to swatch every single color. I really had to hold myself back from buying all of my favorites. Bobbi Brown describes the Crushed Lip Colors as the ultimate swipe and go formula with the feel of a balm and I got to say - I agree wholeheartedly! The full sized lip stick contains 3.4 grams / 0.12 ounces of product and retails for $29 from the below websites -

A Glow That's Out Of This World

I've been experiment with makeup a lot more for the past few months and the more fun / out there parts have started to seep into my normal life. One of the unexpectedly wearable things I've started to do is wear unnatural colored highlighters! I do work in an office that isn't too conservative, but some of the highlighters I've found aren't too crazy until I'm in direct sunlight. This definitely isn't an everyday thing but it's the perfect thing to add when I want to take a step above no-makeup makeup.

I would say that all of these shades are multi-use products as well. Some perform better on certain parts of the face than others though depending on the texture.

Prolonging the Summer Warmth and Glow

I've kind of taken a step back from powder bronzers and have started to embrace cream bronzers instead. It just looks more natural to me and if I do want to something more, I can always add a powder product on top. I've also gotten kind of lazy with brushes and so I like that I can just use my fingers with these products and everything will still blend out perfectly.

Review & Swatches: NARS Cosmetics Glass Tears Eyeshadow Palette

There's a couple of palettes that make me want to drop everything to get and then immediately play with. The recently released NARS Cosmetics x Man Ray Glass Tears Eyeshadow Palette is one of those palettes. There's something about all the jewel toned shadows that really caught my eye and while I initially thought it wouldn't be wearable just by itself, I was was proven wrong with the first eye look! The Glass Tears Eyeshadow Palette contains 6 eyeshadows with 0.08 ounces / 2.4 grams of product each and retails for $49.

This palette can be purchased through the links below -

Getting Ready And Started With Glossier!

I'm a recent Glossier Rep, but I'm a longtime Glossier user. Years and years ago, Glossier gave away free Balm Dotcoms and so I decided to take a chance to get one as a intro to the brand. It wasn't until the Boy Brow was released that I truly fell in love with the brand. While there are some hits and misses, a lot of their products have become everyday staples for me.

As you could see from my posts on my blog and Instagram, I'm a huge fan of editorial or very done up looks. I love to play with makeup, but I'm also a huge fan of easy and quick makeup and that's where Glossier comes in!

As a warning - this post is very picture heavy.

If you're interested in Glossier and would like to support me, please use my rep link here! By using my link, you can get 20% off your first purchase and free shipping with every order with 2 or more products. With every order using my rep link, I get a small commission.

A Touch Of Shine And Color With My Favorite Glosses

I feel like I'm a changed person now. I used to never wear glossy lip products and now I usually carry 2-3 in my bag depending on my outfit. I started with one Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector and while it may not seem like a lot, it's pretty much doubled in size in a month and a half.

This is a very beginner gloss product post though since I'm still not into glassy high shine lip products. While I do love a high shine look on other people, it's not for me. I also don't like sticky products on my lips and high shine glosses usually feel too thick to me too.

You Dew You! ft. Glossy Highlighters

I feel like almost a year or two ago, I switched from mainly using powder highlighters to reaching for more cream and liquid formulas. I feel like they're more versatile since they can be mixed into other products like foundations or primers/moisturizers to create more of a natural glow. While there are liquid and cream formulas that can be blinding, I wanted to touch on some subtle but glossy or balmy formulas that I love. As sort of a warning, all of these products can be slightly tacky on the skin. It's kind of the feeling of very thin Vaseline. Honestly, you could even mix in a tiny bit of pigment into Vaseline to get the same effect.

By glossy, I don't mean a very reflective wet look, I want an actual balmy dewy finish. Do you know when you just put on a clear lip balm on and there's a slight gloss on your lips? I want that. I saw a comment on YouTube saying that a glossy highlighter could be thought of as a product that doesn't have a strong base pigment and so it looks wet instead of stripey because the base shade doesn't work for your skin tone.

If you're looking for a video version of this topic but also with powder highlighters, Mariah Leonard on Youtube has a great video about it here!

A Step Into Fall ft. Burnt Orange Lipsticks

I'm back! Took a break from blogging and now I'm back to talk about a recent color love.

A while back, I complained in pretty much every blog post that my lips were acting up. I think I was able to narrow it down to the Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks but I'm not 100% sure. Ever since I've stopped using those, my odd lip reaction stopped. I'm actually kind of sad about it because they were pretty good and they introduced me to one of my favorite shades - Pumpkin. It's not available on their website anymore, but imagine a dark pumpkin shade with some brown in it. I still sometimes wear the lip liner since I'm not allergic to that though and so it's not a total loss! Even so, this whole thing sparked my love and hunt for the perfect dark pumpkin orangey brown shade and I've found quite a few favorites.

A Change in Pace // The Brown Lip

The Brown Lip.

A few years ago, I would've called anyone crazy if they told me that I would be obsessed with the finding the perfect brown lip. It might have been the 90s kid in me, but I really gravitate to those shades now along with my other favorite - reds. While I'm 90% sure I do have more browns in my collection, these were the ones that were scattered all over my desk for easy access and all ones that I've been wearing all the time when I want some on the nude side.

I'm always really wordy in these kind of posts and so I'll try to be as sweet and short as possible!

Review & Swatches: NARS Cosmetics x Charlotte Gainsbourg Collection

So... whoops? Broke my no buy again.

I was almost doing well and then I started to see more about the NARS Cosmetics x Charlotte Gainsbourg collection. I wasn't really interested when this collection was first released, and then I read more about how effortless and cool Charlotte Gainsbourg is. I've been dipping my toes back into more natural looks and by reading into what Charlotte's vision for collection, it seemed like some of the products were exactly what I wanted.

During one of my Nordstrom stops, I purchased the Hydrating Glow Tint in Medium ($36 for 1.7 Ounces / 50 mL), Multiple Tint in Alice ($39 for 0.23 Ounces / 6.7 grams), and Lip Tint in Double Decker ($26 for 0.17 Ounces / 6 mL).  And surprise! Right after that stop, I went back and also picked up the Hydrating Glow Tint in Light. That's already a spoiler for this post! I was pretty happy with the above post and didn't want to re-take it to include the second tube.

Review: Glossier Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen SPF35

I'm so excited about this post since it's about a very exciting new launch from Glossier! About two and a half weeks ago, Glossier sent me the new Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen SPF 35*. I'm not even a brand rep and so I was pretty pumped to be able to test it out before the official launch. I'm also really pumped that they sent this to me for free as a PR sample too. I'm not the greatest with skincare and I mostly go with what feels and superficially looks right, but I'm going to try my best to do this sunscreen justice since it is a good one! Each tube retails for $34 and contains 1 fluid ounce / 30 mL of product.

Balms Away!

I regularly have lip issues and I think I was able to narrow it down to a lip product, but not a ingredient yet. Each time my lips had a reaction, I would desperately search for a better lip balm. So far, I've found many great choices but I've gone back a couple over and over again. Lip products have always been my favorite and lip balms are oddly one of my favorite things to look into.

Review & Swatches: Pony Effect Unlimited Cream Shadow in Heartwarming, High Standards, Future Proof, Beloved, and X-Factor

I was kind of debating whether or not I wanted to do this blog post anymore on the Pony Effect Unlimited Cream Shadows since Pony Effect isn't as readily available in the US anymore, but it's still accessible using other websites. I've also spent forever taking pictures and I don't want to throw that time away. They're also pretty good and that's definition information I want to share! I originally started with Heartwarming and X-Factor and then got High Standards, Beloved, and Future Proof when they were on sale. Each pot retails for around $17 and contains 6 grams of product.

Review & Swatches: MCC Accent Waterproof Eyeliner in Accent Black | #YSBEAUTYBOX17

Yesstyle recently reached out to me to see if I was interested in their Blogger Beauty Box and of course I said "Yes!" I received full sized products and some samples for free and was asked to review at least one of the products in the box. I tried out the full sized products, but I ended up choosing the MCC Accent Waterproof Eyeliner in Accent Black* to write the review on! Even though the other items were lovely, I just found myself really reaching for this eyeliner almost everyday. There is 0.35 grams of product and retails for $4.90 on the Yesstyle website here!

Feeling Like A Dark Star

I was going to do a Spring Sale at Sephora Haul post, but I ended up doing a last minute post and I couldn't wait any longer to talk about the gorgeous Pat McGrath Labs Dark Star 006 Kit in Ultraviolet Blue. I was honestly not going to get it because of the high price, but I think the adrenaline of a sale and a gorgeous blue eyeshadow made me impulse buy it. I've also been really into glossy eyes lately and so the gorgeous gloss with violet, teal, and blue shimmer. The whole kit retails for $130 and includes pigments, an eye gloss, black kohl liner, and a blending brush.

This post is not going to be a review and is more for swatches and some eye looks. Pat McGrath's products and kits always run out so quickly and so I wanted to get those swatches out there as soon as possible with some brief thoughts on each item.

Review & Swatches: Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter

Influenster recently sent me the Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter for free  to test and review and oh boy! It's gorgeous! This highlighter came out as part of Marc Jacob's Coconut Collection and it's described as a "golden peach" gel/liquid highlighter. Besides using it as a highlighter, this product can also be mixed in with other base products to create an all over subtle dewy look. There are 0.8 ounces / 24 mL of product and retails for $44.

Mini Overview & Swatches: Holika Holika Piece Matching Shadows

I recently went super crazy over the Holika Holika Piece Matching Shadows and ordered 16 of them in all the finishes. I was originally only going to get the Jelly finishes, but all of them are pretty inexpensive and so I got more. The Holika Holika x Gudetama Palettes I currently have are also pretty good and so I felt like I wasn't going to risk too much by buying more. I also have impulse buying issues but let's just gloss over that. Each shade retails for about $5 and I bought them on Jolse.

Review & Swatches: I'm Meme I'm Tic Toc Cushion Velvet Tints

Memebox recently reached out to me to send me the full collection of I'm Meme I'm Tic Toc Cushion Velvet Tints* for free to test out and create swatches for. Gotta be honest - these tints were kind of facing a losing battle since my lips have been in a terrible situation lately. I found out what was sparking my lip allergy and I went on a family vacation to Las Vegas. Both of those things made my lips irritated and super dry. Surprisingly, these cream lip tints worked super well even under those conditions! The I'm Meme Tic Toc Cushion Lip Tints have already been released on the Korean Memebox website, but they'll be available to purchase on the USA Memebox website on April 18th.

2017 Favorites: March

March was kind of a whirlwind month for me for both my personal and work life. I ended up going with more basic looks like lighter bases and also rediscovering a favorite in my collection. My makeup was pretty streamlined and relaxed during March, but I'm excited to play with new things again in April since the Sephora sale should be happening soon.

Makeup Bag Monday #2 ft. 3CE, Pony Effect, and Kylie Cosmetics

For my last Makeup Bag Monday post, I think I included too many products and not enough swatches and so it became super wordy. I still didn't do enough swatches, but hopefully it's not as wordy and long? For the past week and a half, I pulled out a palette I've had for awhile but the other products were all relatively new to my collection. Two of them actually just came in the day I decided to choose the products for this post!

Collection Clear Out #3 ft. Empties & Toss Outs

As mentioned here and there, I'm trying to control my spending but I'm also trying to use up or throw out what I've collected but haven't used in awhile or don't enjoy anymore. As time has gone by, I've found better products or I've neglected some for so long that they've gone bad. I'm slowly but surely going to cut down a bit more so that it's just slightly above a normal amount of makeup!

Review & Swatches: Pony Effect Makeup Arti-stick Highlighter in Dream-Like

I've recently fallen in love with cream stick highlighters and it's all due to the Pony Effect Makeup Arti-stick Highlighter in Dream-Like. It officially moved me from loving liquid highlighters to creams. I bought this in one of the sets that included the Pony Effect Pebble Blender and Mirage Highlighter in Lucid Dream, which is also one of my favorite highlighters to use. The Arti-stick in Dream-Like retails for $28 by itself and contains 10 grams of product.

Makeup Party: Monochromatic Day to Night Look ft. Bite Beauty Multistick in Almond

I'm a pretty avid YouTube watching and one of my favorites to watch is HeyClaire (channel here)! I was on the fence about the Bite Beauty Multisticks, but Claire's stamp of approval motivated me to purchase some as well.  I planned an all day date with my boyfriend recently and since we were going to do so many things, I wanted to do an initial easy look for the majority of the day and then add a bit more drama for the night. The Multisticks seemed like the perfect choice for me to use and it also meant less products to pull out or touch up!

Feeling Fresh and Lush with Lush Skin & Hair Care!

I recently really wanted/needed to repurchase Lush Oatifix and decided to pick up some other things as well. My skin has been feeling dry and the masks I currently have in my collection weren't really cutting it. I mean, I do have facial oils and moisturizers I really enjoy but sometimes you just want to spoil yourself with a nice mask. I know that there are some mixed feelings about Lush Skincare, but a lot of their things do work well on my skin.

Makeup Bag Monday #1 ft. Colourpop, Hourglass, Milani, Essence, and Holika Holika

I've been watching Serein Wu (blog / YouTube) and one of my favorite series from her channel is Makeup Bag Monday. Lately, I've been overwhelmed with the amount of makeup I have and I thought this was a great way to combine testing new additions to my collection and also shopping my stash. I'm still planning on doing lengthy full reviews that go more in depth, but those take up so much time sometimes that new products I've purchased have already become old news in the blogging world. With these kind of posts, I'll be able to give quicker reviews and can always expand later on if people are interested in my longer reviews.  I am going to do these every other week though instead of once a week so that I can still do other kind of posts since I only post two-three times a week anyway.

For this post, I'll be featuring Colourpop, Holika Holika, Milani, Hourglass, and Essence!

Anti Haul #1 ft. Anastasia Beverly Hills, MAC Cosmetics, Becca Cosmetics, and Kevyn Aucoin

Kimberly Clark (YouTube Channel Here) has started a real big trend - Anti Hauls! If you haven't heard of her before, her videos are great and she's now become the voice in my head when I want to buy something. As mentioned here and there, my spending has gotten out of control and so I also wanted to start doing Anti Hauls to almost convince myself out of buying more things. I have nothing against these brands and products, but sometimes I just need a reminder that just like my life, my room is a mess.

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit

I've purchased the Gleam Glow Kit and I rarely reach for it. Not because it's bad, but because I just have too many highlighters and the packaging is a bit bulky. I do have magnetic palettes, but most of these are already full of eye shadows. Honestly, this palette does speak to me so much! The pinky shades that I always gravitate to and lovely bronze shades that would definitely make me feel like a glowy bronzey goddess! If I didn't already have a Glow Kit and an abundant of highlighters, I would've immediately snatched up this palette. I've also heard that the previous 6 pan Glow Kit wasn't that great and that definitely helped me curb my "need" to get this palette.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette

I swear,  I'm not trying to pick on Anastasia Beverly Hills or something. I think that this palette is a great idea and I'm loving all the color combos I've seen using this Lip Palette. For an average makeup user, this might be too much and it'll be hard to recreate an lip color favorites if you're trying to customize the color. I already have a lip palette that I actually do like from Pony Effect (sent from Memebox and the review is here), but I rarely even reach for that because I don't want to go through the hassle of creating a color in the mornings. It'll also be hard to reapply the shade if I don't pre-mix something in the morning. For a makeup artist, I can totally see this working wonderfully. It's just not for me.

3. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Prismatic Amethyst

Oh Becca, you make the most gorgeous highlighters but this one just isn't for me. I feel like the shade is very on trend right now since everyone and their moms have been releasing duo-chrome and non-neutral highlighter shades. I almost got this shade, but then I remembered that I barely even use the current Becca highlighters I have in my collection. Again, not because I have something against the brand or their products, but I just have other highlighters I like more. I do sometimes use Topaz on top of bronzers or Opal very slightly dusted over my cheekbones, but not that often. Amethyst is actually my birth stone and that was also the other reason why I really really wanted this highlighters, but when am I going to ever wear an Amesthyst highlighter. I don't even use goldish highlighters and that's the type of highlighter shade that almost everyone loves and says is universally flattering.

....Now that I just talked about Topaz and Opal, I might actually break them out again because they are gorgeous. Maybe I'll include it in my next Makeup Bag Monday post!

4. Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub

I absolutely love the regular Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink. I've mentioned it everywhere and I always have one in my collection. I'm trying to push off opening my current new tube while I'm trying to test out and go through some other tinted balms and lipsticks though. This Lip Sugar Scrub though. Who the heck needs a $33 lip scrub?! I thought it was interesting, but again... why? There are millions of other amazing lip scrubs including DIY versions that are so affordable. I watched a review where a YouTuber said it was also moisturizing and gave a tint like the Lip Glow, but I would rather just spend $10 on a Lush Lip Scrub and then $33 on the regular balm. The edges of my lips are also sometimes dry and I would not want this stick lip scrub going over my lip lines in case that area gets tinted as well.

5. Kevyn Aucoin The Neo Highlighter

Oh boy. This is something I've been really really wanting ever since I saw it on the Sephora website. Honestly, I would get it if I didn't already have 2/3 shades from this palette. I bought the contour duo that includes Candlelight and also bought Sunlight during my "BUY EVERY SHIMMERY BRONZE SHADE" phase a few weeks ago. Starlight is the only thing I'm missing and will eventually buy as a single and so this "palette" was an easy pass. I'm kind of assuming that the quality is the same in this product as the individual shades and if they are, holy moly. I would recommend it to others who don't already have these shades! The neapolitan aspect of this product might be hard to work with, but all of the shades are pretty sheer and already look gorgeous in the pan and so I feel like it'll still look great if a bit of another shade gets mixed in. For me, this is an easy pass.

6. Scented MAC Sized To Go Prep + Prime Fix+

I almost bought all the scents just because of hype. Even though I have dry skin, I don't super like facial sprays. I go light with powders as well and so I usually don't need something to fuse powders with my base and things like that. I do actually have the regular Fix+ and do like it, but it's one of those things that I'll just use it if it's on hand. If anything, I mostly use it to dampen my brushes a bit to foil my eyeshadows. I really don't need scented sprays to do that. The mini of the scented version and the mini of the original version are the same price with the same amount of product and so it might be worth of a try if you haven't tried it out and like the fragrances.

I feel like this was a pretty tame Anti Haul. I've also gotten less sassy since one of my coworkers left and so I might have to work on that.

What are you currently not hauling? Did you or do you want to get any of these products?

*Photos were pulled from Sephora and Nordstrom's websites

Review & Swatches: Sugarpill Feline Fancy Collection

Sugarpill released the #FelineFancy limited edition set for Valentine's Day this year and it included a palette with four new shades and a new Liquid Lipstick in Strange Love. I'm quite a fan of red/pink shades and their eyeshadow and lipstick formulas so I was very excited when the promo pictures of this set was released. The whole set retails for $48 dollars and can be found on the Sugarpill website.

The Handbag Residents #2

I feel like I should be embarrassed about how many lip products are in my bag, but I'm actually kind of impressed since it's a pretty small bag. I'm temporarily stepping away from one of my hand bag staples (the Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink) to branch out and use up more lip products that are currently in my collection.

Makeup Party: Green With Envy ft. Sugarpill

I recently bought a whole bunch of Sugarpill eyeshadows so that I could play and get more comfortable with colored eyeshadows. It's still mainly me wearing these brighter shades at home, but that's still something, right?!

I initially wanted to do a more olive toned coloring since that shade and wearing turtle necks like Steve Jobs has been my aesthetic lately, but it turned out brighter. Overall, I'm quite happy with my eye look and also lip choice but I wasn't quite as happy with my base. I've been breaking out a lot more on my jawline and foundations haven't been sitting on my skin as well as I want them to. I'm going to sound like a weenie, but it's been cold in Southern California at around 40-50 degrees F lately and so it's been rough on my skin. Moisturizers and facial oils have been my best friend!

The Beautylish 2017 Lucky Bag

Every year, Beautylish holds a Lucky Bag event where customers can spend $75 (for the regular Lucky Bag) and receive a "bag" of surprises! Each product is a complete surprise until the customer opens it, but it usually includes featured brands on Beautylish. I'm so late in posting my bag, but I'm hoping mine will help others decide if they'll want to purchase one at the end of this year.

2017 Favorites: January & February

I thought I was all out of favorites since I did all of those 2016 Favorites posts, and then I finally pulled out of my new stuff and started playing with them! Right after I took all of these pictures, I did realize I did really enjoy a few more products but I'll save those for my March Favorites since I already have so many for January & February.

Review & Swatches: Bite Beauty The Lip Pencil in 020 and 044

Bite Beauty x Influenster very kindly sent me for free some products to try and test out! I'm going to be focusing on Bite Beauty's newest launch - The Lip Pencil in 020 and 044*! They also sent me two minis from their Amuse Bouche Line - Honeycomb and Whiskey - to pair up with The Lip Pencils. I used to think that lip pencils were kind of useless mostly because I didn't have that many problems with feathering or fading. Now that I'm experimenting with darker colors most of the time and apparently always experiencing dry and thus wrinkly uneven lips, I've really started to appreciate a good lip pencil. Each pencil contains 0.05 oz/ 1.4 grams of product and retails for $18.

The Final Touches ft. Puffs of Powder

Considering how I have dry/dehydrated skin, I'm kind of surprised at how many powder products I have. Most of the time, I look for powders to set my under eye area or to add some luminosity to my skin without using highlighter. Lately, I do feel like companies have been putting out powder foundations that work wonderfully on dry skin though and that also prompted me to try out more powders.

Review & Swatches: Tony Moly Inked Cushion Liner in Black and Plum Wine

Got to be honest - 100% bought both of these liners because of the ultra adorable packaging. It's such a nice desk makeup item as well!

The Tony Moly Inked Cushion Liner is a relatively recent release, but there has been many reviews of it already because the packaging kind of sparked everyone to get it as soon as possible. Spoiler - I'm in consensus that these are more gimmicky than anything, but I'm actually surprised at how much I liked one of them! I bought Black and Plum Wine, but it comes in 5 colors total. They retail for around $7-$9 each depending on where you buy them and each pot contains 2 grams of product.

Review & Swatches: Pony Effect Stay Fit Matte Lip Color in Magnificent and On Fleek

The Pony Effect Stay Fit Matte Lip Colors have become one of my favorite liquid lipsticks and I've finally sat down to review the first two shades I purchased. When these initially launched, I purchased a duo that included Magnificent and On Fleek. The swatches on the Memebox website do look different than what I saw in real life and while I was slightly disappointed, I do love these shades and hope this review helps! Pony Effect claim that these liquid lipsticks will give opaque color with minimal smudging and has a nourishing formula. Each tube contains 4.6 grams of product and retails for $18.50.

2016 Favorites: Eyes + Brows

I was pretty boring and possibly unsurprising with my 2016 Eyes + Brows picks, but that's almost to be expected since I loved these items so much that I ended up mentioning them all the time! Instead of bigger eye shadow palettes, I favored singles (powder + creams) and smaller palettes more. I just felt like those were easier to use in the mornings when I didn't want to think too hard.

Review & Swatches: Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Kitten Karma and Rose Gold Retro

The Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows are the answers to my glitter product prayers! An over exaggeration, but I've been wanting to incorporate glitter into my collection and this launch was perfect! I'm a naturally clumsy person, and so loose glitters were never something I really wanted to venture in and so these liquid (but not watery) glitters were something I immediately added into my shopping cart. The two colors I'll be reviewing are Kitten Karma and Rose Gold Retro. Each tube contains 0.15 ounces / 4.5 mL and retails for $24.
