Shopping the Stash! #2

I haven't written a Shopping The Stash post in awhile. The last one I wrote was almost two years ago. This time, it's a whole different set of products!

I bought a Benefit skincare set awhile ago and it came with the plastic pouch. It's quite handy because it's clear and easy to clean. I've been using it to hold certain products as a reminder to use them. Some of these products are new(ish), old favorites, or just stuff I want to use up. I keep holding onto products that are almost done because I keep thinking there'll be another or better opportunity to wear it.

I'll be moving into another apartment at the end of summer and so I wanted to use up some of my products so I wouldn't have to carry almost empty products with me.

FOTD - April 25, 2014 // Plummy Days

The weather was great for the longest time and then suddenly it was pouring rain. My hometown would rain a lot during winter and beginning of spring, but it rarely rains where I live now. Whenever it rains, I'm always thrown off and makes me incredibly lazy. I would usually just wear really minimal makeup, but I decided to play up the purple in my hair before it fades away. The eyes have some lavender with a bit of taupe while the lips are a more berry toned color to match the slight redness in my hair. The lavender shadow I used also had a golden shimmer in it and it matched so well with the golden highlighter to brighten up my face on this gloomy day.

As you can probably see, I still have a lot of problem spots on my face. I don't mind having them show and so I don't have a concealer that I use on a regular basis. I tend to only wear concealer on my face on special days where I want my face to look perfect. If it's just a normal day, I would just put on some kind of base and then focus my attention on my eyes.

I had some plans with friends this day and so I wanted to wear some lipstick. I ended up going shopping and then a party later in the night. I realized that I'm not a party person and that I'd much rather hang out with my friends in a more relaxed setting, like eating out or watching movies.

All The Shades of Purple // New Hair Color!

I've been wanting to dye my hair a non-neutral color and since Vidal Sassoon came out with some purple and blue permanent shades, I thought it was a great time to dye it! I used mostly drugstore stuff, but I had to order developer and toner on Amazon. With the amount of money I used, I feel like I should've just bought a bulk amount of bleach and developer on Amazon too for future touch ups.

Manicure Monday: China Glaze Nail Polish in For Audrey & Ciaté Paint Pot in The Hamptons

This week, I will be wearing China Glaze Nail Polish in For Audrey and Ciaté Paint Pot in The Hamptons! For Audrey is a light turqouise / Tiffany Blue with a creme finish. The Hamptons is a glitter polish with teal glitter and gold hexagonal glitter.

I don't know if I just got a weird one, but For Audrey doesn't go on evenly for me. I really have to work with it to make it look nice. I tend to pair this polish with a glitter polish so that the unevenness could be covered a bit while allowing the color to show through. It's such a beautiful color though and I got this from one of my close friends for my birthday last year. I have so many clothing items and electronic accessories that match this color, but I can't help it! It's so pretty.

I've worn The Hamptons once before paired up with another glitter and it chipped off so easily. I used the same base and top coat like with my other manicures, but I don't know what happened. I got this polish in a set with two other glitter polishes and so that's why it's a mini size. An upside to this polish was that it was fairly easy to remove. I didn't need to scrub it off like some other textured / glitter polishes that I have. Two coats could even give you opaque glitter nails, which I love.

I also paired these colors with CND's Stickey Base and Sally Hansen's Insta-Dry Top Coat.

What are on your nails this week?

Seconds, Please! aka Products I've Repurchased #1

I have a bad problem of just buying everything new in sight and so I tend to not repurchase a lot of items. The items shown above are some of products I either have back ups of or have repurchased because I love them so much. I go through skincare, mascara, and eyeliner because I use those almost every day but there are also some other makeup products, like powder, that I tend to use up quickly too.

Review & Swatches: It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+ in Medium

I've got a long review for you! I recently got It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+ in Medium. It is a paraben free base that claims to be full coverage and color correcting with a physical sunscreen and anti-aging serum. I haven't heard a lot about this base and so I wanted to write a more in depth review. I may have missed some things and so if you have questions after reading my review, feel free to ask any questions!

Review & Swatches: L'oreal Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Concealer in Medium

L'oreal Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Concealer is a luminizing and highlighting concealer that can be used to brighten up the eyes and also highlight certain parts of the face. The packaging is plastic and to dispense the product, you just twist the bottom of the pen.

I'm about a MAC NC35/ MUFE HD Foundation 127 and this concealer was slightly lighter than the rest of my face. The lightness helps add to the brightening effect though.
