Review & Swatches: Life's Entropy Lip Theory Satins in Milky Way and Blackbody

Life's Entropy Lip Theory Satins in Milk Way and Blackbody are limited edition from their Cosmos collection releases last winter. They were made special for Black Friday, but are being sold until the end of January. They lipsticks are vegan and cruelty free. Each lipstick contains 4.5 grams and retails for $12.

Milky Way is a pinky brown and is super creamy and pigmented. Both lipsticks have condensation droplets on the bullet, but it's totally fine and safe. I've had higher end lipsticks with these kind of droplets on them as well.

The lipsticks have a satin finish, but it can be made matte by blotting or rubbing it onto the lips with your finger or lip brush. Up close, the lipstick looks more pinky but the brown shows up if you're look at my full face.

As the day goes by, the finish becomes more matte. It also fades very evenly so you don't have to worry about any patchiness. It feels lightweight on the lips and is so opaque with one swipe.

The color is so beautiful and it's one of the few pinks I can wear. Pinks always make me feel weird and so I'm happy to have found this. According to Jane (the owner of Life's Entropy), the color is supposed to be a dupe of MAC's Lip Liner in Soar.

Black Body is a deep aubergine and has a satin finish. Again, it can be made more matte depending on the application.

The formula of Black Body is exactly like Milky Way's formula. It's a bit harder to make this color perfect on the lips straight out of the tube though because it's such a dark color. If you look at Life's Entropy's swatch, it looks more red but it is much more purple on my lips.

I read some reviews that Black Body tugged on the lips, but mine glided on so easily. The first swipe surprised me so much because it was opaque with the slightest touch.

This lipstick is also a dupe for another very famous lip color - NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu. It is a very intimidating color to wear, but the comfortable formula and bad ass color makes me want to wear it everywhere.

One swipe on the respective lefts and two swipes on the right

The packaging of these Lip Theory Satin lipsticks do feel cheap and the bullets are slightly loose, but I can't complain because they were practically made by 2 people. I was able to push the bullets down a bit to secure the lipsticks better too. The plastic is very lightweight and matte. It's the same size and shape as CoverGirl lipsticks if you need to compare them to something.

The lipsticks do have a faint "classic lipstick" smell to them but it does go away after application.

There is some transferring if you eat or drink, but that's to be expected with a more satin formulation. I did find that there was way less transferring than some of my other lipsticks though.

Final thoughts: I'm so sad that these are limited edition because Jane did such a great job in making them! Both lipsticks are comfortable to wear and are not drying at all. They do cost more than your average drugstore lipstick and less than some mid-range lipsticks, but they're one of the best lipsticks I have tried. They glide onto the lips and are opaque with one swipe. I recommend buying at least one lipstick before they're gone! Life's Entropy even sells samples and they ship internationally as well.

If you're also interested in ordering other things from Life's Entropy, they also have an option to put the lipsticks on hold until the rest of their inventory opens.

Spoilers!
I haven't gotten them in the mail yet, but I did buy another Milky Way and Black Body for an upcoming giveaway!

  1. I love both shades! I love that they fade evenly as well, I can't stand of when lipstick fades on the inside of my lips faster!

  3. I hate when lipsticks do that too and darker lipsticks definitely do that more often!

  6. They just started out and I think they're great so far! Their turn around time is really slow though because it's pretty much a two person company. I highly recommend their products!

& I saw! You're so sweet and thank you (: I'm a bit boring on Twitter and Instagram though. I made a Twitter years ago, but only started to (rarely) use it. I'm also going to follow you on Bloglovin though

  8. I would totally jump on getting one (or all) because today is the last day to get the Cosmos lipstick! I also tried her OCC lip tar dupes, Dipbrow dupe, and eyeshadows. I loved everything except for the eyeshadows. They're nice, but I have trouble with loose eyeshadows.

  9. What causes the condensation droplets? That pink-brown shade looks so good! It's so funny how the color changes so much between the close up and full face shot.

  10. I'm not sure. I think it's also referred to as "sweating" and some people said that it happens because of certain natural ingredients. Everywhere I've looked said it's normal though.
