Mini Target Haul! & Quick Updates

I went to Target the other day to forget about going back to school for a little bit. I saw some new products (the lipsticks!!) and it was hard to resist buying more. I also wanted to try the Wet 'n' Wild Take On The Day primer because everyone I talked to said this primer was amazing. I've tried all of the products right when I got them, but I'm still doing some wear tests.

& now onto the products!!

Maybelline ColorSensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick in Rose Rush - In the tube, the color looks like just another red. I had a post bashing a Maybelline lipstick, but then my perception of them changed after getting Touch of Spice. The color for Rose Rush is a warm red that sometimes looks pinky and sometimes looks orangey. It's bright, but it's still wearable.

CoverGirl Colorlicious Lipstick in Delicious - This color looked so unique in the tube. It looks like a medium mauve purple, but swatches differently on my lips. It becomes more pale and lavender like. It is definitely not my color, but looks better when mixed in with darker shades. I'm still testing it out, but it is currently a regret.

Wet n Wild Fergie Take On The Day Eyeshadow Primer - I asked some people on reddit for a new primer recommendation and the top two were this primer and the NARS one. I wasn't going to drop ~$20 on a new primer and so I decided to just try out the Wet n Wild one.

Wet n Wild Fergie Shimmer Palette in Rosé Champagne Glow is exactly how it is described. It's a perfect balance of rose gold and champagne. It's not as fine milled as some other highlighters, but I'm still playing around with it. It is extremely gorgeous though.

Simple Cleansing Micellar Water - Cleansing waters have been extremely popular for the past few years starting from Bioderma. I'm in the States and Bioderma is really expensive to get here. The Body Shop has a makeup remover that I love that is pretty much like a cleansing water, but I wanted to try a specifically named "cleansing water." Simple is a more natural brand that targets sensitive skin, and so I wasn't sure if it would work that well. I tried it and it's not the best for taking off all of my makeup, but it does help take off the bulk of it.

Read on for my life update, but feel free to stop here since I'll be done talking about beauty. Leave a comment below telling me what product you want me to review first!

I also have a review on the Mally Bulletproof Essentials Starter Kit coming up soon. I just need to write it up, but the pictures are all done.

Now for some life updates!

I just got back to my apartment and my last quarter has started. My lighting was absolutely terrible in my old room and everything was so blue / cool toned no matter what I did. I wanted to post regularly, but time and lighting was not on my side. I also dropped water on my laptop on Sunday..... This post was supposed to be done by yesterday at my normal time, but I was too scared to turn it back on.

I'm hoping to get back on my regular schedule soon and so please bare with me!! I'm back with my normal lighting and all of my makeup products. I bought some stuff before quitting my second job though! I never mentioned it while working there, but I was working at an Ulta during my fall quarter as a seasonal beauty advisor. I loved working there and all the workers were so nice!! If you're in Newport Beach, visit the Ulta Beauty location in Fashion Island!! It is smaller than other Ultas, though, and so not everything will be there. They have everything I need and the location is so nice that I love going there anyway.

Doing my makeup before every shift was so much fun, too! I wore more dramatic looks and it helped me ease into it for non-Ulta working days too. Please excuse the grainy photos, but good news! I got a new phone and now quick photos will look so much better.

I wish I could've stayed on, but since it's my last quarter, I didn't want to push myself. My grades were still good during my fall quarter, but they could've been better. My time was stretched out so much that it was taking such a toll on my mental health and my relationships (boyfriend and friends). The managers were so sweet and told me I could always reapply though. I'm really thinking about applying again after I finish school, but I also need to plan for grad school application preparations.

I'm done rambling now. I hope you had a great holiday season and good luck to students starting school again! I'll be back soon and hopefully more consistent again!

  1. Great little haul! I'm not sure if it's available in the US yet but the Garnier Micellar Water is really good in my experience, definitely comparable to the Bioderma one at a less painful price.

Good luck for your studies! :)

  2. It's not here yet :( Garnier released some great skin care items last year, but not their Micellar Water and I'm so sad. I'm hoping that with the release of the Simple one, more brands will bring their versions to the US too.

and Thank you!! I can see the end of undergrad and I'm so excited!!

  6. Thank you so much! I wore that one day at work and I feel like it was everyone's favorite look the whole time I worked there hahahaha

I've been using Mally's cream shadow stick thing and haven't had time to try out the Fergie primer, but I have more time tomorrow and so i can't wait to try it out.

  7. I just saw the Fergie primer on sale at Walgreens! I didn't know if it was any good. Now I regret not picking it up. I've been using the Jordana Shadow Stick in that skin tone shade, and it works pretty good! I'm not sure if you've tried it yet, but it's pretty good for the price.

Good luck on your last quarter btw! :)

  8. I stuck with Urban Decay's Primer Potion for years, but mostly because one bottle has lasted me for years hahaha I tried ELF and Nyx's shadow base and they didn't work at all. If you go on reddit.com/r/makeupaddiction, a lot of people say that the Fergie primer is amaaaazing. Maybe it's just hype, but I really hope it's true hahaha

and thank you!! I'm so nervous to finish
