Review & Swatches: Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar in #4 Juicy Cherry

Tony Moly's Petite Bunny Gloss Bar in #4 Juicy Cherry is a bright pinky red gloss and comes in a form of a stick. It is like a tinted lip balm, but more shiny. It contains 2 grams and the price varies depending on what seller you get it from. I bought one from ebay from this seller for about $5.50, but I've also seen it in Urban Outfitters for $8.

The color is a sheer and clear, but not colorless, bright pinky red that leans more red. I say clear because it doesn't go opaque on the lips no matter how many swipes I layer on. I have a little freckle on my bottom lip and it still shows through even when I really layer it on. The product also gets shinier / glossier the more you later it on.

The smell reminds me of old floral perfumes plus some a tiny bit of fruitiness, which I just realized might sound bad. It's an okay scent and I would've preferred something else, but it goes away.

The packaging is what really got me to buy it. Each Gloss Bar contains bunny ears and a different face. I joke around with my boyfriend and say I got this because it matches my facial expression, but I just think it's so cute. The color was also something I was more likely to wear.

The lasting power is not that great and the claims for extra moisture aren't really true. I find the lasting power is about 2-3 hours, but it wears away easily. The closest product I can compare to is Maybelline Baby Lips for the moisture and lasting power. Baby Lips and the Gloss Bar add a layer and color onto my lips, but not really moisture.

For color comparisons, it's similar to MAC's Lip Stick See Sheer and Dior's Dior Addict Lipstick in Diablotine. They look pretty similar swatched on my arm, but Juicy Cherry has a brighter red base and lacks the opacity the lipsticks give.

Final thoughts: This product gives shine, cute packaging, and color, but not enough moisture for me. It's super easy to apply and I like to keep this in my handbag or backpack in case I want my face to look a bit brighter. I don't know if I'll buy anymore, though. The price is great for something like this, but it's a bit harder to get my hands onto.

  1. I'm surprised it wasn't that moisturizing! I found that most of the shades in this line are sooo light or don't show up but that is a nice tint of color!

  2. I think it's a preference? I use thicker lip balms and stuff like EOS lip balms, certain Chapstick variations, even the Kiss of blank stuff from Nivea don't feel enough for my lips.

And it's such a nice tint of color! My lips look paler during winter and I'll definitely be using this a lot to give them more life.
