Review & Swatches: Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in (Luna)Tic

Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in (Luna)Tic is a metallic pale lavender and I do see that, but there's also silver glitter like in Brown(Out). It is waterproof and the claims include having a smooth application and being long wearing. It contains 0.5 grams and retails for $25.

The base color is very correct, but the reflective nature of the silver glitter makes it a bit hard to photograph. It goes on so smoothly and is very consistent with Brown(Out)'s formula.

I only lined the lower lashline with (Luna)Tic and you can see that it does highlight the eyes and adds a nice bit of color.

I have also used it on the lids and it worked wonderfully there as well. I feel like I had to work faster with this shade than Brown(Out) but it was still easy to blend. You definitely need to work on one eye at a time.

It stays on all day without any fading or smudging and I have pretty watery eyes sometimes.

You can see the glitter more in the close up of the actual product.

The packaging is retractable and also includes a sharpener at the bottom. I don't like having sharp pencil liners because I usually use them on my lower lashline, but it's great to have.

The packaging looks fancy and sleek (like most of Marc Jacob's products), but it lacks a certain weight to it that is usually associated with more luxurious products. I don't really mind it though because that just means it's easier to carry around without adding any more weight.

Final Thoughts: I love this shade so much and having 3 shades of this product makes me want to just collect them all. Just like Brown(Out) and Blacquer, (Luna)Tic goes on very smoothly and lasts all day. The cool pale lavender might not be for everyone, but it adds such a nice and different touch to the eyes.

Have you tried the Highliner Gel Eye Crayons from Marc Jacobs?

  1. This looks sooo gorgeous! I freaking love how you used it! I used to love charcoal grey eyeliners when I was younger but stopped using greys as an eyeliner for such a long time! I've yet to try any make up from marc jacobs but I would love try something from them!

  2. I've only tried the Marc Jacobs Highliners, but they're definitely one of my favorite eyeliners ever. I'm slowly dying my hair to be a more cool toned color and all I've been doing is imaging how great (Luna)Tic would look paired up with my hair hahahah

Are his products available where you are??
