Review & Swatches: Life's Entropy Eyeshadow / Pigment in Horsing Around

Life's Entropy Eye Shadow / Pigment in Horsing Around is described as a "medium golden brown with a strong red shift" and is supposed to be semi-shimmery. Instead of red, I see a more plum / red-y plum shimmer. The golden is more apparent in finger swatches, but the reddy plum shimmer is the thing that really appears on the lids.

Like the past review posts, the order of the bases are - Bare, Urban Decay Primer Potion, NYX Eye Shadow Base in White, and LASplash Splashproof Sealer.

I remember choosing this shade as a sample because it seemed interested, but I forgot what it was supposed to look like. The sample baggie makes the shadow look like just another golden brown shade (which is my favorite and go - to kind of shade), but then I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw.

The above eye swatch was done without any kind of base. I just used a fluffy brush and it applied so nicely. I previously had issues having the "shift" to show but I didn't even need a base for this shade. Even without a primer, it looked really good all day long.

Final Thoughts: I've actually been looking for something to go with my purple hair and this was the perfect shade. It's not a straight up purple, but a red-y plum shift with a medium golden brown base. It's easy to use and I really recommend this shade. I might even buy the full size later on.

  1. Whoa, I totally didn't expect that color just by looking from the sample baggie. I know that this is just a sample but I hate things in a bag. I would prefer a jar but we all know that costs way more.

  2. Me too! It was more messy than the full sized jar I got from Life's Entropy, but it's great for just trying out the shades. There's a pretty decent amount in each baggie too.
