Review & Swatches: NARS Blush/Bronzer Duo in Orgasm and Laguna (Mini size)

The NARS Blush/Bronzer Duo in Orgasm and Laguna comes in two sizes. I will be reviewing the mini size. Each powder contains 0.08 ounces / 2.5 grams. Orgasm is a pinky coral blush with a very fine golden shimmer and Laguna is brown with gold shimmer.

I've always heard about these two shades, but I could never bring myself to buy either the full size or the duo palette because of the price. I wanted to find possible dupes before buying these powders, but I finally got them. I believe the mini size came out about a year or two ago and so I decided to get it since it was also cheaper. After using it for the past couple of days, I can see why these shades are so famous.

I have always strayed away from shimmery blushes, but I did instantly fall in love with Orgasm. It added such a healthy pink glow to my cheeks and the shimmer is almost like Albatross. With this blush, I could even skip the cheek highlight. My skin color is around light medium to medium for most foundations and Orgasm looked very natural on. I didn't think it was as pigmented as some of my other blushes though. theBalm's Frat Boy blush is very close to the base color of Orgasm and if you add NARS Albatross on top, the color looks almost exactly the same.

Laguna is not as shimmery as Orgasm. There were even times on my face when it looked very matte. I could even get away with using this color as a contour. I really like this bronzer, but I found that if I was any darker, it would not show up on me. The texture of this bronzer is a bit smoother than Orgasm, but they're both soft. The closest color I have to this bronzer is Tarte's Amazonia Clay Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess (review here) except Laguna is more matte.

The compact is the same size as a full size blush by NARS. The powder size is small and compact, but that also meant that it was harder for my brush to pick up product. My brush would even slightly touch the other powder when I would only want one.

Final Thoughts: I am very glad that I got this. The pinky-ness from Orgasm matched very closely to the color of my natural flush. The shimmer also brought back life and a glow to my face that setting powders and foundations can sometimes take away. Laguna is almost too light for me, but it still works. If you've been wanting to try some NARS products, I definitely recommend trying this mini duo by them.
