April & May 2015 Favorites!

This post is simultaneously late and early. I've been very busy lately and won't speak too much about it until my next post, but it's pretty much - full time job (!!!), graduation preparation, wedding, and weekend trips. I'm still going to be busy for awhile and I'm guessing I'll still be relying and loving these products for the rest of the month.

I'm going to say this right now- I'm not sponsored or even related to Memebox in any way. But you know, if you want to hook it up, Memebox, I would really appreciate it!! I went a bit Memebox crazy in the past few months because of my love for Pony (YouTube channel here). I feel like she has great taste in makeup and her tutorials are so amazing. I even bought 2 more XO Memebox palettes that should arrive before this post is even up.

I have talked about some of the products before and so I won't make this too lengthy.

Reviews -
Milani Rose Powder Blush in Romantic Rose - This blush is the perfect rosey nude shade for me. It gives me a beautiful rosey flush and easy to apply considering I'm still a blush newbie. The rose pattern is also perfect that I'm a bit sad the top part is starting to flatten out. I like that it's matte so that it's can be more office appropriate by itself, or bumped up with highlighter for going out.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita - Again, a great rosey nude shade. The arm swatch makes it look more red than it is and I kind of what that shade as well. I was in a rush when I was taking these pictures because I had to go somewhere and so I didn't want for it to become matte either. This lipstick stays on even though I'm drinking coffee all day.

Pony x Memebox Pink Bloom Palette & Memebox I'm Cream Shadow in #01 Flashlight - It was such love at first sight with both of these products. I don't like wearing Ashy Brown with the rest of the pink shades, but it's great all over the lids for a brown neutral look. The rest of the palette are perfect together make me feel so girly and pretty.

Swatches left to right -
Pink Bloom Palette / Shine Easy Glam Eyeshadow Palette 1 (Easy Brown & Easy Shadow) / Romantic Rose Blush / Flashlight / Lolita / Brightening Vanilla Face Powder

Now for the products I haven't talked about yet, but will review eventually!

Pony x Memebox Shine Easy Glam Eyeshadow Palette 1 is the original Shine Easy Glam palette and it has mattes and shimmery shades. I've only used 3-4 shades from this palette because it got overshadowed by the Lorac Unzipped palette since I got both around the same time. I recently saw Pony post on Instagram that she liked to use Easy Shadow as a contour shade. I decided to give it a go with Easy Brown because it's darker and they make the perfect contouring pair. They're pretty neutral browns and blend so well into my skin. I mix both for normal days and only use Easy Brown for a more apparent but still natural contour.

Besame Cosmetics Brightening Vanilla Face Powder is a translucent powder that is supposed to have a slight yellow tint to brighten up the skin. It's supposed to be similar to banana powders. I originally got this to set my undereye area for the wedding I went to, but I started to use it all over my face and really love it. It's more translucent and the yellow isn't that obvious. My skin is also very yellow and so it doesn't make that much of a difference. It gives a more velvet finish as well and so my face doesn't look too matte and dry.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Polish in Babe Blue is a light periwinkle shade that is between a sky blue and lavender. There is the slightest amount of shimmer in the bottle, but has a creme finish on the nails. I saw "New" signs near this shade when I bought it, but I don't know how old those signs actually were. Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear polishes are one of my favorites because they're such great quality and still around $3 each. I was supposed to be on a no-buy when I bought this, but the color and price couldn't be beat.

What product(s) have you been loving lately?

  1. That's great life is going well for you! Can't wait to hear about your new job :D. I am also obsessed with Pony, why can't I have her face... Even if she did get surgery hehe. I love her memebox palette too, the matte browns are my favorite for contouring! For my cheeks I just sweep a brush over both browns and mix them together. I love them because they are ashy toned, not a hint of orange in them!

Also, that pastel blue nail polish looks amaze!

  2. I love her face so much D: hahahah and did you see her shopping video with her friend? They were both so funny.

I can't believe it took me so long to use the memebox palette! Your review did convince me get it though :D hahahahha

  3. I'll have to pick up that Milani blush sometime (since I'm supposed to be on a spending ban :P ). I've had so many loves lately! I've been really liking the Nars concealer and the L'Oreal color riche balm in rose elixir!

  4. Fantastic favorites! I never do favorites because I can't seem to settle on using the same things for more than a day or two as I really rotate products and 'shop' my stash all the time! Myself and many other bloggers used to be sent memeboxes to review until they completed stopped international shipping just a few months ago. I personally am not too upset but I think they didn't handle the change very well. They didn't give any warning and didn't send out e-mail or notification to their huge base of international customers and it looks like many of them are really upset and have vowed not to buy from them anymore. There's this theory that after they made a lot of money from their international boxes they're now expanding the US shop instead. I'm still always ogling at products from them now and again but am not bothered that I can't get any right now. There are so many other brands I want to buy from right now and asian brands are easy to come by over here! :p

  7. I.... yolo'd too hard these past couple of days. Didn't do enough research either and might have to return some things :( Sigh, had too much excitement about getting a job HAHAHAHA

I tried the NARS concealer, but it wasn't enough coverage for me. I had an ELF concealer that was giving me the same coverage/effect so I returned it.

  8. I love playing with make up and 'shopping' my stash, but I wake up really early now and don't have time to do so :( I guess I'll save that for weekends

Memebox emailed me asking me to do a review on their brand/Soothing Sista palette and I pretty much said I thought how they handled international customers and shipping was terrrrible hahaha I got your back. :D Memebox has great shipping for me because I'm in California, but I wish it still kept its international shipping so that more people can get access to asian brands as well. I'm surprised they don't even ship to Canada.

  9. Thanks!! I'm slowly getting use to it, but I'm so tired everyday. I even took a nap in my car during my lunch hour yesterday hahaha I hope you're doing well! <3

I really love Pony! I love her personality, but I didn't know she had a book! I must check it out.

  15. I'm so surprised that her brand isn't sold in other countries! I know that it's a Sephora exclusive, but I feel like she can totally be exclusively sold in other countries as well.

  16. I'm so annoyed that they don't do international shipping anymore! Even though I am in the states, I feel like some companies get fewer points from me in general if they're not as available in different countries.

Where did you get yours from because I'd really love to try *o* And dayummm those meme box palettes are so popular and the colours are so pretty :)) Too bad again they don't ship to Australia :'(
Sometimes I really wish I could be in the US just because of all the makeup shops that you guys have access to hehe ~

  19. The blush would look great on you! I've worn it almost every day since I've gotten it. I recently bought two Clinique blushes as well, but I still want to use the Milani one (:

I got the Orange version of the palette and my boyfriend thinks that one is prettier than the pink one hahahhaa

  20. I'm so sad we don't have milani here - you're blush looks well loved and I'd really like to try one of them since they are in every blogger favorites. ;)

  21. Kat Von D is exclusive to Sephora! I live in the States and so it's super easy for me to get it, even though the color itself is pretty hard to get since it's always out of stock. I think someone told me that Sephora is in Austrailia... but I'm not 100% sure.

  22. CONGRATS ON THE FULL TIME JOB (if I haven't congratulated you yet)! I recently got the same Milani blush in Coral Cove and I CAN'T. STOP. WEARING. IT. I do feel bad about eventually having to flatten out the rose pattern, but I just love the blush shade so much ;-;
I finally got my Besame lipsticks in the mail yesterday, but I'm tempted to try out more from their line--I WANT TO TRY THE VANILLA POWDER NOW. THANK YOU SEPHORA GODS FOR FINALLY CARRYING BESAMEEEEEEEEEE

  23. Sorry it took so long to respond back to you! I think my chrome crashed and all of my windows disappeared.

I really want to check out more Milani blushes since they're so raved about, but a part of me feels like I shouldn't since I barely wear blush anyway hahaha.

I'll definitely check out your blog! Thanks for stopping by!

  24. THANK YOUUUUU hehehe

I want to get more of the rose blushes!! A little piece of me dies the more the blush flattens out :(

How are the lipsticks?! I'm going to sell some of my makeup to clear out my collection... and then maybe get Red Velvet hehe The powder is amazing. I got the lighter yellow powder, but the lavender one looks interesting too.
