Review & Swatches: Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk Chiffon Lipstick in PK027 and BE109 [Pink Bird Box]

Etude House recently launched a new lipstick line with a new texture - Chiffon! The Chiffon texture mixes the softness and moisture from cream textures with the vivid and long lasting properties of matte lipsticks. There are 12 colors in the new Chiffon line and Etude House sent me two to review as part of their Pink Bird program! I received PK027 Pit-A-Pat Chiffon Pink* (Krystal of F(x)'s Pick!) and BE109 Flutter Chiffon Beige*. The Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk lipsticks contain 0.11 ounces / 3.4 grams of product and retails for $12.40 on the Etude House global website here!

The Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk Chiffon Lipstick in PK027 Pit-A-Pat Chiffon Pink* is a dark (but still vivid) blue based almost magenta pink. In certain lights, it also looks like a pink based reds and I'm a fan of those shades.

My eyes look dead, but please note that that's not a reflection of how I feel about these lipsticks!

When I saw the promo pictures of Krystal wearing PK027, I was pretty worried that it would be way too bright for me. It's still out of my comfort zone of wearing mostly dark reds, but I feel like it's the perfect pop of color lipstick shade when the rest of my makeup is more toned down.

The Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk Chiffon Lipstick in BE109 Flutter Chiffon Beige* is a slightly warm nude lipstick. The other person promoting this lipstick line is LilyMaymac (Instagram here!) and she's been doing a lot of promo shots with this shade. It looked gorgeous on her and so I was excited to see this shade in my Pink Bird Box.

Most of my nude lipsticks are more brown or rose tones to them, but BE109 is the perfect nude shade for my skin tone. There is a touch of warmth to it that is more flattering to my skin but I totally get why people love nude lipsticks now.

I had to use my old camera to take these swatch photos. For some reason, my higher quality camera kept making PK027 look way more orange.

Finish wise, the Chiffon lipsticks set to be a soft matte. It reminds me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor, and L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss but in bullet form and the Chiffon lipsticks don't feel as slippery/greasy on the lips.

These lipsticks don't last as long as other matte non-liquid lipsticks I have in my collection, but they have so much more comfortable. They still last a long time though and they also fade with a lot of dignity. They never look blotchy or uneven even if I've been eating or drinking a lot during the day.

True to Etude House's claims, the Chiffon lipsticks feel creamy and smooth on the lips. My lips have been acting up and there are more flakes and lines, but these lipsticks just smooth over those spots without any problems at all.

Final thoughts: I was already a huge fan of Etude House lipsticks and lip products, but they did amazingly well on their Chiffon formula. They're incredibly comfortable and don't feel drying at all. I've been mostly using liquid lipsticks, but these Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk Chiffon Lipsticks are great choices when my lips are feeling too dehydrated. I highly recommend getting BE109 especially if you're around my skin tone! PK027 is also lovely, but it may be out of some people's comfort zone like my own. Both formulas feel exactly the same and so that makes me pretty excited to try out other colors from the Chiffon range. If they're all consistent, they'll probably be my favorite bullet/traditional lipstick formula.

Have you tried Etude House lipsticks? How do you feel about soft-matte finishes?

*These products were sent to me for free as PR samples as part of their Pink Bird Program. As part of their program, I get sent a box of products each month to review. All opinions are my own and 100% honest.
