April & May 2015 Favorites!

This post is simultaneously late and early. I've been very busy lately and won't speak too much about it until my next post, but it's pretty much - full time job (!!!), graduation preparation, wedding, and weekend trips. I'm still going to be busy for awhile and I'm guessing I'll still be relying and loving these products for the rest of the month.

I'm going to say this right now- I'm not sponsored or even related to Memebox in any way. But you know, if you want to hook it up, Memebox, I would really appreciate it!! I went a bit Memebox crazy in the past few months because of my love for Pony (YouTube channel here). I feel like she has great taste in makeup and her tutorials are so amazing. I even bought 2 more XO Memebox palettes that should arrive before this post is even up.

I have talked about some of the products before and so I won't make this too lengthy.

Reviews -
Milani Rose Powder Blush in Romantic Rose - This blush is the perfect rosey nude shade for me. It gives me a beautiful rosey flush and easy to apply considering I'm still a blush newbie. The rose pattern is also perfect that I'm a bit sad the top part is starting to flatten out. I like that it's matte so that it's can be more office appropriate by itself, or bumped up with highlighter for going out.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita - Again, a great rosey nude shade. The arm swatch makes it look more red than it is and I kind of what that shade as well. I was in a rush when I was taking these pictures because I had to go somewhere and so I didn't want for it to become matte either. This lipstick stays on even though I'm drinking coffee all day.

Pony x Memebox Pink Bloom Palette & Memebox I'm Cream Shadow in #01 Flashlight - It was such love at first sight with both of these products. I don't like wearing Ashy Brown with the rest of the pink shades, but it's great all over the lids for a brown neutral look. The rest of the palette are perfect together make me feel so girly and pretty.

Swatches left to right -
Pink Bloom Palette / Shine Easy Glam Eyeshadow Palette 1 (Easy Brown & Easy Shadow) / Romantic Rose Blush / Flashlight / Lolita / Brightening Vanilla Face Powder

Now for the products I haven't talked about yet, but will review eventually!

Pony x Memebox Shine Easy Glam Eyeshadow Palette 1 is the original Shine Easy Glam palette and it has mattes and shimmery shades. I've only used 3-4 shades from this palette because it got overshadowed by the Lorac Unzipped palette since I got both around the same time. I recently saw Pony post on Instagram that she liked to use Easy Shadow as a contour shade. I decided to give it a go with Easy Brown because it's darker and they make the perfect contouring pair. They're pretty neutral browns and blend so well into my skin. I mix both for normal days and only use Easy Brown for a more apparent but still natural contour.

Besame Cosmetics Brightening Vanilla Face Powder is a translucent powder that is supposed to have a slight yellow tint to brighten up the skin. It's supposed to be similar to banana powders. I originally got this to set my undereye area for the wedding I went to, but I started to use it all over my face and really love it. It's more translucent and the yellow isn't that obvious. My skin is also very yellow and so it doesn't make that much of a difference. It gives a more velvet finish as well and so my face doesn't look too matte and dry.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Polish in Babe Blue is a light periwinkle shade that is between a sky blue and lavender. There is the slightest amount of shimmer in the bottle, but has a creme finish on the nails. I saw "New" signs near this shade when I bought it, but I don't know how old those signs actually were. Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear polishes are one of my favorites because they're such great quality and still around $3 each. I was supposed to be on a no-buy when I bought this, but the color and price couldn't be beat.

What product(s) have you been loving lately?

I'm back and I'll be reviewing the Pony x Memebox Pink Bloom Box! I really wanted to try out the Pink Bloom Palette and since I had points, I decided it wold be a better deal just to get the box. Right now, the box is sold out but you can get the products individually.

Here is a before and after with the products on my face! I also had to add in my own foundation and brow products.

Collection: Cream Eye Shadow

Cream Eye Shadows are some of my favorite eye products because they're easy to use and stay on all day. I'm missing the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows that I reviewed on Wednesday, but you can read about them here

I also have a L'oreal Infalliable Eyeshadow in Amber Rush, but that's more of a pressed pigment than cream eyeshadow to em. It is a gorgeous rose gold that leans copper and highly recommend it to everyone though!

I've had some of these for years and the newest ones were bought just a few weeks ago.

Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Stick in Rose Taupe and Saddle Shimmer (review here)
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Bronze Have More Fun (review here)
MAC Paint Pot in Indianwood
Givenchy Ombre Couture Cream Eyeshadow in Rose Dentelle (review here)
Ulta Color Coat Cream Eyeshadow in Rose Gold
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze, Tough As Taupe, Black Orchid and Rose Riot

My first ever cream eyeshadow (and MAC product!) was MAC Paint Pot in Indianwood and was around $16. It's crazy to think that they're $21 now. I was in between this color and Rubenesque, but I thought Rubenesque would be too light.

The Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Sticks are probably my favorite out of all these cream shadows. They're more portable and easy to store. They also last forever and more waterproof than the rest of the shadows.

My least favorite are the Maybelline Color Tattoos, but that sounds weird because I have 4 of them. They're very affordable and Maybelline releases new colors very frequently. Tough As Taupe is very dry and I ended up throwing it away. A lot of people use it as a contour, but it really didn't work for me. Bad To The Bronze is also dry, but works way better than Tough As Taupe. Rose Riot and Black Orchid are very creamy and have a thinner texture. Rose Riot turns more into a silvery pinky tinted color instead of what you see in the pot

The Givenchy Ombre Couture Cream Eyeshadows are matte and have an almost powdery feel to them. Rose Dentelle is the perfect base for the Naked 3 Palette-esque colors and works so well. The other colors in this line don't interest me as much, but I really love the one I got since the color is more unique.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows are more gel-like than cream. They're thin like Rose Riot and Black Orchid. I mostly bought Bronze Have More Fun because it's supposed to be really close to Urban Decay's Eyeshadow in Smog, which is my favorite eye shadow color.

The Ulta Color Coat Cream Eyeshadow is pretty good, but I would not pay $8 for them. I got this when there was a buy 2 get 2 free deal and so it was more like $4 before their $3.50 off $10 coupon. The texture is better than Bad to the Bronze, but not as nice as the higher end shadows. Even though the color is a Rose Gold, it leans more on the pink side.

& that's my overview of my cream eye shadow collection! I really want to try out more from different brands like Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown, but I'll wait till I have a job again to buy those.

What are your favorite cream shadows? Do you prefer cream or powder shadows?
